GPSBabel 1.5.1 launched May 17.!
Hello, Babel-Heads.
Unlike GPSBabel 1.5.0 which was a pretty major rework, 1.5.1 is pretty boring. It's a releatively minor bugfix release - unless one of the bugs is affecting you; then it's the best release EVAR! Freshly added:
- Add options to discard filter to discard points based on regular expressions.
- Experimental support for for faster Garmin serial download speeds.
We have fixes:
- Windows binary formats that used seek (notably Garmin POI) could return EOF prematurely because of a bad interaction with a new zlib library.
- Users upgrading from an older version will no longer presented with a character set option in the GUI that doesn't work.
- TODO: list more.
For a more detailed list, see the changes in GPSBabel. For a mind-numbingly detailed list, see our source code.
Supporting the project
We get a constant stream of requests to support new hardware, adding support for new OSes, and such. It costs a lot of time and money to buy GPS receivers, programs, and computers for development. You can help fund the next generation (hey, someone funded what's there now...) by supporting the project with your time or your donation. If you have a way you'd like to see the money spent (i.e. improving Mac support, new GPS models, etc.) please mention that in your submission. We appreciate all the help we can get
Enjoy
